PREDATOR-PREY EXAMPLE #1
Prey- The poison dart frog is the predator of flies, termites, crickets, ants kills it's food by paralyzing the prey and then consumes it. The Dart Frog has poison in its bloodstream which makes it a deadly thing to eat for other animals. The only predator the dart frog has is the Amazon Ground Snake because it is immune to its poison when eaten.
Predator- This is the Amazon Ground Snake. The Amazon Ground Snake is immune to the poison dart frog meaning that the poison from the frog doesn't affect this snake at all. Since the Amazon ground snake is immune to the frogs poison it hunts the frog and eats it which makes the Amazon Ground Snake as a predator and the Dart Frog the prey.
Host-PARASITE EXAMPLE #2
HOST: A host is an organism that harbors a parasite, typically providing nourishment and shelter.
PARASITE: Parasitism is a organism which lives inside the host/other organism. the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other, the host
The host in this case are the trees in the rain forest. The parasite is the cicada. The cicada adults lay their eggs in the trees. Then when they hatch, the cicada nymph drops to the ground and burrows to the roots of the trees and sucks the sap out of them. The trees can potentially be damaged.
